Department SummaryVUMC Walk-In Clinics deliver convenient, high-quality urgent care services for patients ages two months and older with non-life‑threatening illnesses and injuries. Our clinics offer flexible access to care, allow patients to be seen on a walk-in basis or to reserve their place in line online for convenience, and provide a comprehensive range of on-site services including point‑of‑care laboratory testing, EKGs, X‑ray imaging, and select minor surgical procedures.

- Collaborate with patients/families and health care providers in the delivery of health care services.
- Partner with the health care team by following the established plan of care to ensure patient progress for effective outcomes.
- Support plans to promote health and a safe and healthy environment.
- Additional duties may be assigned.
- Clinical Patient Documentation (Novice) – Performs patient documentation with moderate difficulty under supervision, contributes to the nursing assessment by collecting, reporting, and recording objective and subjective data accurately and promptly.
- LPN Patient Education (Novice) – Provides patient education under supervision, supports instructional activities for patients and families.
- LPN Care Planning (Novice) – Participates in developing the plan of care with the licensed team, anticipates resource needs, prioritizes work, and maintains productivity amid changing conditions.
- Clinical Competency (Novice) – Executes nursing interventions such as wound care, point‑of‑care testing, and vitals with moderate difficulty under supervision.
- Organizational Impact: Performs routine tasks that impact team performance with occasional guidance.
- Problem Solving/ Complexity of work: Uses discretion and research to solve routine problems.

Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program
