REPORTS TO: Principal

JOB GOAL: To demonstrate leadership, to establish a respectful environment for a diverse population of students, to know the content they teach, to facilitate learning for their students, and to reflect on their practice.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Building leadership among the staff and with the administration to bring about consensus and shared ownership of the vision and purpose of the school.
• Making content engaging, relevant, and meaningful to students’ lives by aligning instruction with common core, essential standards, and 21st-century content including global awareness, financial, economic, business, entrepreneurial literacy, civic literacy, and health awareness.
• Teaching existing core content revised to include skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and ICT literacy.
• Facilitating instruction using a variety of methods appropriate for students, integrating technology.
• Using various assessment methods to gauge learning and promote teamwork and leadership.
• Collaborating with families and significant adults, adapting instruction for students with special needs, ensuring fairness.
• Demonstrating ethical principles including honesty, integrity, fair treatment, and respect.
• Serves as a team player and role model, supporting continuous quality improvement and the organization’s core values.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
:

• Communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, and community leaders.
• Have finger dexterity and perform basic life functions: kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, seeing, hearing, repetitive motion.

• Current Certified Teachers: upload legible copy of official transcript for all degree levels in PDF format, a copy of an NC Teaching License or other current license, and a resume.
• Residency candidates: upload legible copy of official Bachelor's transcripts in PDF format, any previously licensed information, and resume.
• International applicants not affiliated with providing program: upload legible copy of original foreign transcript, evaluated transcript in PDF format, copy of Social Security Card and front/back copy of Work Authorization Card or Permanent Resident Card, and resume.
