General Description
The Set‑Up Technician is a hands‑on individual responsible for start‑ups and change‑overs of production runs using the most efficient methods. The position aims to set parts up with limited scrap and downtime, assist with troubleshooting and training to meet customer needs.
Essential Job Functions- Work with Single, Dual, and Tri Extrusion systems.
- Execute multiple tooling changes during an 8‑hour shift.
- Operate die types such as Streamline, Flat back, and Button dies.
- Handle sizing types:
Profile plates in water tank, vacuum calibration in water tank, Air Rack with plates. - Perform lamination using in‑line PSA and HATS.
- Operate cutters including in‑line fly knife, puller combo, saw, guillotine cutter, and rotary cutter.
- Punch parts and use in‑line laser and ink‑jet printing.
- Respond to Andon board requests promptly.
- Carry out additional duties as requested.
Job Responsibilities
- Seek value‑added activities when time allows.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and support staff.
- Participate in Kaizen and corrective action events as required.
- Promote and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Perform 6S and other required duties.
- Effective communication with coworkers and management.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and meet standards without direct supervision.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and navigation of internal programs.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Tow motor license required.
Physical requirements:
stand, sit, walk, bend, and crouch frequently; lift no more than 50 lbs. Visual work involves close reading of paperwork and computer screens. No travel required. Position type: regular.
