Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education with a valid Georgia teaching certificate.
Is qualified to teach the subject and/or class assigned as defined by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GAPSC).
Ability to relate well to students, parents, and co-workers.
Duties:
Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance and performs all duties as assigned effectively and efficiently.
Is neat and professional in appearance, befitting the job they provide to the school system.
Shall exhibit a professional attitude and demeanor at all times in dealing with the board, school administration, fellow employees, parents, students, and the public.
Use appropriate, research-based methodology for instruction.
Provide content development, establish high expectations for student performance, and assist all students in mastering academic standards.
Promote student engagement in learning and provide appropriate assessments of student learning progress.
Use student progress data to develop teaching strategies.
Respond to adequate and inadequate student performance.
Support students with encouragement.
Utilize time efficiently.
Maintain an effective physical setting for instruction.
Compile, maintain, and submit all required reports in a timely manner.
Maintain appropriate student behavior in the classroom.
Follow professional practices consistent with school and system policies in working with students, student records, parents, and colleagues.
Adhere to the Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia, as established by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
Integrate the use of technology in the classroom.
Participate in training programs and apply concepts learned in the classroom to increase student learning.
Review current developments, literature, and technical source information related to job responsibilities.
Ensure adherence to appropriate safety procedures.
Follow federal and state laws, as well as Board policies.
