Position: Licensed Practical Nurse - Night Shift - Full-Time - Emergency Department

Compensation Pay Range: Minimum Offer $23.11, Maximum Offer $35.29

Work Shift: 12 Hour Nights (United States of America)

Responsibilities
  • Adheres to the LPN scope of practice
  • Contributes to the assessment of the health status of individuals, families, and communities.
  • Deliver direct patient care, including administering treatments as prescribed, assist nurses and physicians with various procedures and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken and patient responses.
  • Adhering to LPN scope of practice administers prescribed medications, including medications given through established parenteral/intravenous infusions as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and document according to policy.
  • Participates on interdisciplinary team to meet patient care and/or clinic needs, working cooperatively with others to accomplish required work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Document and report patient condition, care delivery and post procedure follow up.
  • Assess changes in patient condition and report to registered nurse and provider as needed.
  • Incorporates nursing activities that create a compassionate, supportive, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff with the aim of promoting comfort and healing.
  • Applies Compassionate Connected Care principles and incorporates into care interactions.
  • Respectful and timely response in interactions with patient, family, health care team members.
  • Maintains efficient patient flow and assisting with treatments and procedures.
  • Ensures safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and patient-centered care.
  • Provides education for patients, significant others, and family using identified educational materials and resources under the direction of the registered nurse and provider.
  • Supports process/quality improvement initiatives and incorporation into practice.
  • Incorporates all patient safety technology, tools, protocols, communications, and initiatives to optimize a safe patient environment.
  • Deploys processes in the clinical environment to enhance care efficiency and cost containment.
  • Follow approved policies and procedures and standards of care.
  • Maintain current certifications for appropriate specialty.
  • Keep current with developments in the field through seminars, workshops and publications.
  • Participate in patient and family teaching.
  • Uses the electronic health record at the skill levels commensurate with responsibilities.
  • Incorporates PHS mission in care‑giving activities.
  • Maintains positive communication and relationships with patients, peers, and other healthcare team members.
  • Maintains a punctual and reliable attendance record.
  • Uses available resources within system to enhance own continuous learning.
  • Completes mandatory in‑services, competencies and licensure requirements on time.
  • Adheres to safety and equipment policies.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality/personal/medical information.
  • Meets assigned productivity targets.
  • Performs other functions as required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse-NM
  • PDS IV training as part of orientation
  • BLS required
  • Basic Cardiac Arrythmia (BCA) for areas with cardiac telemetry monitoring
  • ACLS – within 6 months of hire for areas where required.
  • Valid NM Drivers license; meet qualifications of PHS driver policy for areas – Home Health and Hospice only.
