Day Surgery RN – Part Time

Sierra Medical Center is a 170‑bed acute care hospital that is part of the Northern Nevada Health System. We offer 24/7 emergency care, cardiology, oncology, labor and delivery, level II NICU, surgical and orthopedic services, and more.

We are seeking a dynamic Day Surgery RN to provide direct and indirect patient care in the Day Surgery Unit and Pre‑operative Holding Area. The RN will communicate with physicians, the Nurse Manager, and other staff about changes in patient condition, results of diagnostic studies, and symptomatology. The RN must respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment and perform general nursing duties across all departments with adequate supervision.

• Perform a head‑to‑toe assessment on all patients and conduct reassessments as per policy, including pediatric, geriatric, and general patient populations.
• Assess and reassess pain, utilize appropriate pain‑management techniques, and educate patients and families regarding pain management.
• Establish a plan of care as indicated by physician orders and patient condition.
• Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity; address psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
• Act as liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
• Interact professionally with patients/families and involve them in the formation of the care plan and discharge plan.
