Job Description
  • We are seeking a compassionate, detail‑oriented PACU Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our surgical care team. This role is essential in supporting patients during post‑anesthesia recovery by ensuring comfort, safety, and close monitoring. The ideal candidate has strong anesthesia and patient care skills, remains calm under pressure, and is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

    As a PACU LVT, you will work closely with our surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing teams to provide advanced recovery care for patients following surgical and anesthetic procedures.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients during post‑operative and post‑anesthetic recovery
  • Assess and document vital parameters, pain scores, and patient status
  • Recognize and communicate changes in patient condition to the veterinary team
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by attending veterinarians
  • Assist with pain management, warming, positioning, and comfort measures
  • Maintain IV catheters, fluid therapy, and post‑operative nursing care
  • Accurately maintain medical records and treatment sheets
  • Assist with patient transfers and support emergency situations as needed
  • Maintain a clean, organized PACU and surgical recovery area
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to ensure exceptional patient care
  • Provide compassionate patient care and professional communication with pet families when appropriate
What You Will Bring
  • Current Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential
  • 2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician
    • Preference given to candidates with experience in a specialty or emergency hospital setting
  • Experience with anesthesia monitoring and post‑anesthetic patient care
  • Strong understanding of patient monitoring equipment, pain management, and nursing care
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment and build long‑term relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community
  • Reliability, organization, and a commitment to delivering high‑level patient care
  • A passion for lifelong learning and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong focus on client service
  • Honesty, integrity, and a desire to have fun while doing meaningful work
