PIE Operating is looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our finance team. This role owns the integrity of the general ledger — from journal entries and reconciliations through month-end close and reporting — and plays a key part in keeping our financial records accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and adjusting entries
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes within established deadlines
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain and monitor the chart of accounts for accuracy and consistency
- Prepare general ledger account analyses and supporting schedules
- Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations (if applicable)
- Support external and internal audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency in close and reconciliation processes
- Collaborate with AP, AR, Payroll, and FP&A teams to ensure accurate financial data
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages
- Support fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and related reconciliations (if applicable)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–10 years of progressive general ledger or accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Net Suite, Sage Intacct, Quick Books, SAP, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines during close cycles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- CPA or CPA-track a plus, not required
- Multi-entity or multi-location accounting experience
- Experience supporting external audits
- Experience with system implementations or process automation
