Long-Term Substitute Classroom Teacher Position PurposeSt. Edward Catholic School seeks a long-term substitute teachers to serve in Science classrooms. Substitute teachers are responsible for implementing teacher lesson plans and monitoring students to maintain a challenging and stable environment while the permanent teacher is away. The desired candidate will be fully rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition and fidelity to Church teaching.
The ideal candidate should understand how a comprehensive Catholic worldview permeates the classroom environment. In addition to accepting and promoting Church teaching on faith and morals, the ideal candidate is committed to upholding the Tradition of the Church, holding fast to the deposit of faith, and living as a witness to Christ.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other Catholic Schools Office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Knowledge,Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
Works in standard office and school building environments.

- Texas State Certification as an Elementary Teacher
- Texas State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
- Bachelors from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or related discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels a plus.
