WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
PAY GRADE: CA 1
ACE STIPEND: $12,000 Annual ACE Leadership Stipend (in accordance with the District ACE Compensation Plan)
PRIMARY
PURPOSE:
The Assistant Principal – Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) Middle School supports the campus principal in implementing the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) turnaround model and ensuring strong instructional leadership, effective school operations, and systems that accelerate student achievement.
The ACE Assistant Principal assists in strengthening instructional practices, supporting teacher development, monitoring student performance data, and implementing systems of accountability designed to improve academic outcomes. The Assistant Principal works collaboratively with the campus principal and instructional leadership team to support rigorous instruction, effective teacher coaching, and data‑driven decision making that results in measurable improvements in student performance. The Assistant Principal must act with integrity, support organizational goals, demonstrate the ability to inspire and support staff, utilize feedback to improve performance, drive results, and champion the needs of students, employees, and the district.
QualificationsRequired:
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas Assistant Principal or other appropriate administrative certification
- Minimum of two (2) years of successful classroom teaching experience
Preferred:
- Three (3) years of successful experience as a campus administrator
- Five (5) years of classroom teaching experience
- Experience supporting instructional coaching and teacher development
- Experience working in high‑needs or turnaround campuses
- Experience analyzing student achievement data to support instructional improvement
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings
- Thorough understanding of school operations and campus management systems
- Knowledge of effective instructional practices and school improvement strategies
- Ability to analyze and interpret student achievement data to guide instructional improvement
- Knowledge of state accountability systems and campus improvement planning
- Ability to support instructional coaching and teacher development
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to coordinate campus support operations and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and compliance requirements
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Ability to build collaborative teams and support a culture of accountability
Instructional Management
- Support implementation of the Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) instructional model.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of educational programs aligned with campus improvement goals.
- Monitor classroom instruction and support teachers in implementing rigorous, standards‑aligned instructional practices.
- Encourage and support innovative instructional programs and research‑based strategies that improve student outcomes.
- Promote the effective use of technology in the teaching and learning process.
- Assist the principal in implementing systems that support continuous instructional improvement.
- Monitor student achievement data and support intervention strategies designed to accelerate student growth.
