REPORTS TO:
Hillside Kids Team Lead
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Hillside Fellowship believes that Jesus Changes Everything! Our mission is to make disciples who press on to maturity, rooted in the word of God and empowered by the Spirit of God. Hillside Kids Age-Group Lead will oversee and guide the leaders of small groups within their assigned age group. This role is integral to ensuring an engaging, supportive, and spiritually enriching environment for children.
The Age-Group Lead will be responsible for coaching and equipping small group leaders, planning age-appropriate activities aligned with weekly Biblical lessons, and fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Passion for working with children and a strong commitment to an ongoing discipleship with Jesus.
- Proven experience in children's ministry, teaching, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills.
- A team player with a servant's heart and a desire to build a strong sense of community.
- Ability to adapt to varying needs and challenges with creativity and problem-solving skills.
- Member of Hillside Fellowship Church.
- Must pass a background check and adhere to the Hillside's child protection policies.
- Demonstrates a maturing relationship with Jesus Christ and embodies the culture/values of Hillside. (Galatians 5:22-23)
- Experience leading a team or supervising volunteers.
- Familiarity with lesson planning.
- Certification or training in child development or education is a plus.
- Coaching and Mentoring Leaders:
- Provide guidance, support, and encouragement to small group leaders.
- Conduct regular check-ins and coaching sessions to ensure leaders are equipped and confident in their roles.
- Offer constructive feedback to improve group dynamics and teaching methods.
- Planning Activities and Lessons:
- Collaborate with the HIllside Kids Ministry team to create age-appropriate activities that reinforce weekly lessons.
- Adapt and prepare materials for leaders to use in their groups.
- Ensure activities are Biblical, engaging, meaningful, and aligned with Hillside's mission and values.
- Collaborate with Hillside Kids Leadership Team to present trainings and events.
- Building Team Camaraderie:
- Cultivate a winsome and collaborative environment among leaders.
- Plan occasional meetings or social events to strengthen relationships and morale within age-group team.
- Act as a liaison between the Hillside Kids Team Lead and small group leaders to maintain clear communication and a unified team vision.
- Administrative Duties:
- Organize schedules, leader assignments, and resources for small groups.
- Assist in recruiting and onboarding new leaders when needed.
- Coaching and Mentoring Leaders:
- Up to 15 flexible hours per week, with the expectation of availability during weekend services and occasional evening/weekend events.
