Position: Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Spring, Texas
Step into a rewarding educational environment as a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired, serving K-12 students across several campuses. This full-time, onsite contract role starts as soon as possible and continues through late May 2026, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference for students who are blind or visually impaired. As an itinerant teacher, you'll travel between multiple schools in the Houston area, delivering specialized instruction and support to empower learners at various grade levels.

Your expertise will help foster independence, academic progress, and confidence for students with visual impairments in diverse classroom settings.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Valid TVI certification for the State of Texas
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children or within educational settings strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop, adapt, and implement individualized educational plans for students with visual impairments
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Motivated, flexible, and organized, with capacity to manage a dynamic, multi-campus caseload
  • Willingness to fulfill designated time-sensitive credentialing requirements as assigned
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct instruction and support services, including modifications, adaptive equipment, and assistive technology
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to align learning strategies and accommodations
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of student abilities, needs, and learning environments
  • Maintain accurate documentation, monitor student progress, and adjust plans as needed
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development activities as required by the school district
  • Serve as an advocate for students' access to the core curriculum and the expanded core curriculum for visually impaired learners
