Mind Sprout Montessori is seeking a passionate, experienced educator to help launch and lead our developing Secondary program.
This is a unique opportunity for a teacher who is excited not only to guide students, but to help co-create a dynamic, student centered program for adolescents rooted in authentic Montessori principles.
About Mind Sprout MontessoriMind Sprout Montessori is a growing school in Spring, Texas serving families through authentic Montessori education. Our programs emphasize personalized learning, small class sizes, and a strong partnership with families.
We are expanding to include a Secondary program designed to meet the developmental needs of adolescents through independence, meaningful work, and real world learning.
About the RoleThe Secondary Guide will play a key role in both teaching and program development. This position is ideal for an educator who is innovative, flexible, and excited to help build something from the ground up.
You will work closely with school leadership to design and implement a program that supports academic growth, independence, and social-emotional development for students in the upper elementary to middle school range.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate hands on learning experiences that promote exploration, problem solving, and independent thinking
- Support students’ academic progress across core subject areas
- Foster a respectful, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment using positive discipline practices
- Guide students in developing independence, responsibility, and intrinsic motivation
- Support social emotional growth through mentorship and individualized guidance
- Collaborate with leadership and colleagues to develop program structure, interdisciplinary projects, and student experiences
- Observe and assess student progress, adapting instruction as needed
- Maintain records of student learning and classroom activities using platforms such as Transparent Classroom and Google Classroom
- Communicate effectively with families and contribute to a strong school community
- Valid teaching certification in any U.S. state (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of classroom teaching experience at the upper elementary level or higher
- Experience with lesson planning and instruction across core academic subjects
- Strong understanding of child development, particularly early adolescence
- Ability to build relationships with students and create a supportive learning environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Montessori Secondary credential (or Upper Elementary credential with adolescent experience)
- Experience in Montessori, project based, or alternative education settings
- Background in math instruction is a plus
- Experience working with neurodiverse learners
- You believe education should be personalized and meaningful
- You are adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity while building something new
- You are both structured and flexible in your approach
