About HoustonExxon Mobil's state‑of‑the‑art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our teamYou will be part of our Process Control Applications team based at our Exxon Mobil Houston Campus, where you will be working and collaborating on a global scale. As a member of a broader Process Control Applications Engineering job family, you will be sustaining our suite of process control applications across the globe, improving the unit performance or energy use or be actively involved in scoping, developing and deploying new control applications across our business lines in Product Solutions or Upstream.
Whatyou will do
- Maximize profitability by deploying new applications or remotely sustaining and improving the performance of existing Model Predictive Control (MPC) or Real Time Optimization (RTO) applications
- Assess Advanced Process Control (APC) improvement opportunities for the fleet
- Develop and implement new MPC or RTO applications at Exxon Mobil facilities globally
- Collaborate with site personnel to identify, design, and implement improvements to existing MPC or RTO applications to maximize unit performance
- Maintain deep expertise in APC applications and be acknowledged as a leading expert by providing expert technical support to Exxon Mobil assets
- Provide technical leadership to enable the advanced process control application related work activities on a global scale
- Serve as a technical mentor to other team members to enhance their functional skill proficiencies and drive competency development strategy in MPC and/or RTO
- Develop and leverage cutting edge tools and techniques to improve the effectiveness of advanced process control applications and promote innovative solutions that maximize value and support global business priorities
- Stay abreast with industry standards and best practices to incorporate into our APC applications and facilitate knowledge exchange within the company
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of BS Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree (post‑graduate degrees in process control or optimization are beneficial, but not required)
