What You’ll be DoingA Critical Environment Certification (CEC) Specialist II is directly supervised by a CEC Coordinator and/or a CEC Manager while applying detailed certification procedures, techniques and finalizing report data. A CEC Specialist II makes production contributions through talent, knowledge, skills and good working habits while possessing the ability to learn and accept new ideas.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain progress on the CEC Specialist II Skills Checklist while continuing development through the EAB Training Program.
- Perform advanced certification and testing, including:
- Biosafety cabinets
- Fume hoods
- Laminar airflow workbenches
- HEPA filters and HEPA filter banks
- Viable and non‑viable sampling
- Airflow visualization studies
- Verification of environmental conditions (pressure, temperature, humidity, air changes)
- Troubleshoot airflow and pressure issues in critical environments.
- Use and maintain specialized CEC testing equipment with a high degree of accuracy and care.
- Serve as the on‑site safety representative, ensuring compliance with all EAB and facility safety requirements.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, including contractors, designers, and owners.
- Assist in managing Deficiency Resolution Logs (DRLs), including documentation and follow‑up.
- Plan and coordinate testing activities with team members, coordinators, and managers.
- Report system testing status clearly to project leadership.
- Help maintain project schedules to support timely completion.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or HSE, required
- B.S. degree in any field, Engineering preferred
- NSF 49 Accreditation for Biosafety Cabinets
- CETA or AABC accredited
- Minimum of two years of experience as a CEC Specialist I
- Written and verbal communication skills
Organized work practices - Self‑motivated and comfortable working alone on projects
