THE POSITION

H 2 O Innovation is known for its state‑of‑the‑art water and wastewater treatment systems as well as providing plant operations and maintenance management support across North America. H 2 O is seeking Certified Grade 2/3 Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators in Dulce, New Mexico. Work will consist of 12‑hour days, 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off shift‑work (including potential night shift work) at a local water & wastewater treatment plant.

Flights, travel and accommodations are paid. Get your full year of pay, working less than half the year.

THE DAY-TO-DAY
  • Consistently offering professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently
  • Supporting staff with maintenance and operation of treatment plants according to related Government standards
  • Conducting laboratory analyses and associated process adjustments
  • Maintenance and operation of filtering and chemical treatment processes
  • Maintaining all related readings and documentation
  • Keeping a daily log and documenting analytical parameters
  • Creating and completing work orders for servicing and repairs
  • Assisting operations staff with vacation relief
  • Purchasing goods and equipment, and maintaining inventory
  • Entering data and preparing reports to government agencies, departments, and other organizations as required
  • Conducting water‑level measurements and interpreting data
  • Loading and unloading chemicals and supplies
  • Performing calculations related to dosing, flow rates, and other weights and measures
  • Complying with all safety and sanitation policies
  • Maintaining facilities, including landscaping and vegetation control
  • Communicating effectively with personnel and supervisors
  • Supporting clients, vendors, and engineers
  • Providing on‑call emergency response support
  • Training and supporting other staff or on‑site personnel
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES DESIRED
  • Minimum of Grade 2 in Water/Wastewater disciplines required
  • Experience operating and maintaining Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and related equipment required
  • Flexibility and dedication to the position and to public services
  • Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid Driver’s License required
  • Ability to perform on‑call services on a rotational schedule
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF POSITION
  • Walking/standing/bending/reaching/pushing/pulling:
    Potential of 6‑10 hr/day
  • Computer work:
    Potential of 1‑4 hours/day
  • Physical effort: does not lift weights more than 50 lbs
  • Environmental stress: busy atmosphere, working inside and outside
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed indoors and outdoors in sometimes harsh weather conditions.
