About Houston

Exxon Mobil’s state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

Exxon Mobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI)

Our history and our team:
The mission of EMBSI is one that stretches back over six decades. Our team of scientists in diverse fields like epidemiology, toxicology, and environmental sciences serve as in-house experts to support Exxon Mobil in meeting the world’s energy needs while keeping people and the planet safe. We opened our first facility dedicated to environmental health research in 1980. Since then, we’ve seen our work make an impact both close to home and around the world, including the development of new methods for health and environmental safety assessments.

In addition to helping shape corporate policy and product development at Exxon Mobil, we take pride in sharing our research with the global scientific community.

About you

We are looking for a new environmental sciences team member at Exxon Mobil Biomedical Sciences Inc. (EMBSI). Main requirements for the job are:

Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD or Master with 10+ years in Environmental Sciences, preferably in the field of ecotoxicology or environmental risk assessment
  • Excellent foundation in hazard identification and risk assessment principles
  • Experience in planning, design and critical interpretation of risk assessments for chemical products and/or operations
  • Familiarity with industry toxicity testing standards (e.g. OECD Test Guidelines) and global chemical/industrial management regulations
  • Previous experience with legislative and regulatory processes and/or work specifically relevant to chemical registrations, sustainability, the extractive industry, and global operations are particularly helpful

Preferred Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent project management and communication skills (written and oral), including an ability to communicate toxicological data and methodologies to non-scientists
  • Ability to work independently, embrace change, and collaborate with individuals with diverse backgrounds and scientific disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and collaborate with other scientists to produce impactful work products
