Airswift is looking for a Instrumentation and Controls Lead III to work for a major O&G company in Spring, TX, for an initial 12-month assignment with the possibility of extension.
Core FunctionsDefine scope of all pre‑commissioning and commissioning activities, assign workloads, review and implement standards and procedures including man‑hour estimating, cost estimating, budgeting, and progress reporting for the Instrumentation scope across all project phases. Support development and execution of centralized engineering services for existing upstream production operating units and new capital projects to maintain safety, availability, and reliability of instrument and control systems while optimizing cost.
Tasksand Responsibilities
- Liaise with customers, vendors, engineers, and other disciplines as required.
- Participate in HAZOP/LOPA reviews and other technical, constructability and quality reviews.
- Assist in the design, review and approval of instrumentation‑related engineering deliverables, including instrument indexes, installation details, location drawings, datasheets, wiring drawings, loop drawings, P&'s, material requisitions, evaluation of alternatives and selection of instruments, calculations (control valve, flow elements, pressure safety valves), document control logs, bill of materials, and instrument change approvals.
- Support project acceptance (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). reviewing procedures, assigning resources, periodically attending AT, and adjusting commissioning scope to integrate AT successes and deficiencies.
- Develop, track, and adjust commissioning execution schedule.
- Previous experience in a closely related position and/or supervisory experience in the field.
- MS or advanced degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related specialty, or equivalent professional experience.
- Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.
- Able to review, evaluate, and update cause and effect, P&IDs, logic and architecture diagrams, and control narratives.
- Experience in selection, application, and ISA data‑sheet specification of hardware including pressure / temperature / level instruments, control valves, shutdown valves, and fire/gas detection.
- Proficient in data collection and analysis with common database and software analysis tools such as SAP, Analytics for Excel, and Tableau.
- Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
- Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications.
