Job Description:

Lead the scope definition and execution planning for all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for the Instrumentation scope across all project phases. This role assigns workloads, reviews and implements standards and procedures, and supports man-hour estimating, cost estimating, budgeting, and progress reporting. The position supports the development and execution of centralized engineering services for existing upstream production operating units and new upstream capital projects to maintain the safety, availability, and reliability of instrument and control systems while optimizing cost.

Responsibilities:

• Define scope of pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for Instrumentation across all project phases.
• Assign workloads and support implementation of standards/procedures, including man-hour estimating, cost estimating, budgeting, and progress reporting.
• Liaise with customers, vendors, engineers, and other disciplines as required.
• Participate in HAZOP/LOPA reviews and other technical, constructability, and quality reviews.
• Assist in the design, review, and approval of Instrumentation engineering deliverables, including: instrument indexes, installation details, location drawings, datasheets, wiring drawings, loop drawings, P&IDs, material requisitions, evaluation of alternatives and selection of instruments, calculations (control valve, flow elements, pressure safety valves), document control logs, bills of materials, and instrument change approvals.
• Support project Acceptance (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). reviewing procedures, assigning resources, periodically attending AT, and adjusting commissioning scope to integrate AT successes and deficiencies.
• Develop, track, and adjust the commissioning execution schedule.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a closely related position and/or supervisory experience in a related field
• MS or advanced degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering specialty, or equivalent professional experience
• Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
• Ability to review, evaluate, and update cause and effect, P&IDs, logic and architecture diagrams, and control narratives
• Experience in selection, application, and ISA data sheet specification of hardware including pressure/temperature/level instruments, control valves, shutdown valves, and fire/gas detection
• Proficient in data collection and analysis with common database and software data analysis tools such as SAP, Analytics for Excel, and Tableau
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Read, write, and speak fluent English, especially as it applies to technical and business communications
