Designer, Engineering Design & Technologists, CAD​/ AutoCAD​/ Mechanical Design

The Designer 3 will use computer-aided drafting (CAD) software to develop layouts, drawings and designs that meet engineering specifications.

• Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide new and innovative product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
• Collaborates with internal and external manufacturing planners to promote efficient product development, mitigate non-conformances, and provide disposition as necessary.
• Participates in product qualification and testing activities.
• Capable of taking the roughest concept and working in conjunction with engineering develop a new product with minimal guidance.
• Capable of prioritizing work across peer group through influence while aligning to the priorities of multiple projects and department needs.

• Required:
  
  High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Preferred:
  Associates or bachelor's degree. Certification in Solid Works
• Preferred:
  Certificate or Administrative experience in Solidworks PDM.
• Minimum of (5) years' work experience in an engineering environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task on multiple projects at one time.
• Must be able to recognize and be discreet with sensitive business-related materials.
• Must be able to work with people to accomplish assigned tasks.
• Must be able to read, understand, learn and follow written and verbal safety, quality and work instructions.
• Must possess technical aptitude, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Must be able to be use Solidworks computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software at an expert level.
• Experience with Microsoft Office for spreadsheets, reports and other communications.
• Experience with Solid Works for mechanical design, Auto Cad.
• Must have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments.
• Ability to work independently.
• Prefer individuals with deepwater riser or subsea experience.

• This position will require working primarily indoors in a smoke-free office and manufacturing facility but may also require the employee to be outdoors on occasion.
• Limited travel will be required to support offsite personnel and business projects.
• Occasional assignments will require remote accessing and may include evening or weekend schedules.
• The noise level is usually moderate. Employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
