Job Role Description

The Completions & Well Management Research Engineer - Advanced is focused on developing and implementing innovative technologies to enhance well performance. This is done independently as core competencies are already in place

Job Role Responsibilities

- Makes decisions using experience and perspectives, impacting the department; works independently on moderately complex projects
- Uses judgment to address challenges; works independently with minimal instructions
- Conduct research and development on new well engineering technologies
- Utilize data analytics and simulation tools to optimize well design, execution, and operation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate research findings
- Identify and mitigate risks in well design and operations

About You

Skills and

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical), Applied and Computational Mathematics, Applied Physics, or Chemistry
  • 3+ years of working experience in the following areas:
    • Lab work (field chemicals, fracturing fluids, surfactants, proppant materials, or rock mechanics)
    • Hydraulic fracturing modeling, production data analysis
    • Design and execution of field-scale production pilots in unconventionals, including modern use of tracers, fiber optics, pressure monitoring for diagnostic purposes
    • Technology development focused on completion and production tools/design
    • Field experience - unconventionals
    • Integrated projects with cross functional disciplines (Reservoir, Geomechanics, Petrophysics, Completions etc)



Preferred Qualifications /

Experience:

  • 5+ years of post-graduate/non-university industry experience in Upstream O&G working focused on technology development for subsurface/wells-related applications.
  • Critical thinking
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
