We have an immediate need for a Project Estimator – Pressure Vessels & Fabrication to join our Houston based team.
We are looking for a technically skilled, detail oriented, and self-motivated individual who wants to be part of a growing company. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of engineering, estimating, and customer-facing experience while playing an important role in delivering high quality projects for our customers and contributing to Myriad’s continued growth and success.
This individual will report to the President.
Classification:
Salary / Exempt, Full-Time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and as required to maintain business momentum.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
In this role, the Project Estimator will lead the technical and commercial development of quotations for pressure vessels, strainers, piping assemblies, skids, and other custom fabricated equipment. This position will play an important role in evaluating customer requirements, preparing accurate estimates, performing ASME design calculations, developing fabrication drawings, and ensuring that proposed solutions meet applicable codes, specifications, and customer expectations. Working closely with customers, company leadership, Quality Control, purchasing, and production personnel, the Project Estimator will support awarded projects from purchase order review through engineering, fabrication, inspection, testing, documentation, and delivery while helping ensure that each project is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with its quoted scope.
Essential Functions

- Develop accurate technical-commercial quotations by estimating material, labor, engineering, drafting, machining, welding, inspection, testing, coatings, outside services, freight, and other project-related costs for pressure vessels, strainers, piping assemblies, skids, structural components, and other custom-fabricated equipment
- Perform and document basic design calculations using Codeware COMPRESS for major material and related components in accordance with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and, when applicable, Division 2
- Review customer requests for quotation, specifications, drawings, datasheets, AMLs, purchase requirements, and applicable codes to define the complete technical and commercial scope of each project
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify operating conditions, materials of construction, design requirements, inspection and testing requirements, documentation, delivery expectations, and other project requirements
- Prepare complete customer quotations identifying the proposed scope, pricing, delivery, assumptions, exclusions, commercial terms, inspection and documentation requirements, and specification deviations; respond to customer questions and revise quotations, calculations, drawings, costs, and schedules as requirements change
- Develop and review fabrication drawings and other engineering documentation with the engineering team to support customer approval, shop fabrication, and project execution
