SUMMARY

The Deployment Technician is responsible for the cleaning, inventory and restocking of ambulances in accordance with guidelines set by the Office of the Medical Director and enforced by the Texas Department of State Health Services as well as the inventory and resupply of all associated medical kits and speed-load bins.

This job has been designated as a Safety Sensitive Position by HCESD
11. Public safety, as well as the safety of HCESD
11 employees, requires that the employee in this position be able to always perform all essential functions at the highest levels. Therefore, this position is subject to frequent drug testing and requires reporting of all employee use of High‑Risk Medications identified by HCESD
11 and certification from the employee’s physician that such medications can be safely used while working. Because HCESD
11 ’s ability to deliver emergency medical response depends on having a workforce that can be reliably scheduled, this job also requires regular and reliable attendance. This is a high‑stress job that requires focus, engagement, and high performance in traumatic, physically demanding, emotionally charged, and life‑threatening situations. The position involves exposure to serious and graphic injury to adults and children, including death and dismemberment.

A high level of physical, mental, and emotional health is an essential requirement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Performs daily logistics operations to support Field Operations and ensure ambulances and equipment are operationally ready for service.
  • Cleans, decontaminates, and restocks ambulances, including exterior surfaces and interior compartments, in accordance with HCESD
    11 policies and procedures.
  • Builds, organizes, and replenishes supply bins and equipment kits to ensure ambulances and operational units are properly stocked.
  • Conducts basic inspections and equipment checks to ensure medical equipment and supplies are available and in working condition.
  • Handles, stocks, and documents controlled substances in accordance with HCESD
    11 policies and procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with inventory management, including stocking supplies, organizing storage areas, and reporting discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Completes required logs and documentation accurately, including inventory records, equipment checks, and controlled substance records.
  • Handles and properly disposes of biohazard materials in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Maintains logistics work areas, facilities, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
  • Operates company vehicles safely in accordance with all applicable laws and organizational policies.
  • Assists with emergency operations or mass casualty incidents (MCI) as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • EMT, Hospital Supply and/or Pharmacy Tech experience, preferred.
  • Must be able to drive an ambulance and have a driving record in compliance with HCESD
    11 policy regarding insurability
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, able to maintain accuracy while managing structured and repetitive tasks.
  • Effective communicator with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, able to interact professionally with a wide range of individuals.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate systems and technology.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor in a variety of situations and working conditions.
  • Maintain current and valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Must not have been excluded by the OIG to participate in Federally Funded Health Care Programs
