Employment Type: Contract
Work Location: Spring TX (100% Onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: $65-$70/hr.
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to support and manage enterprise security authentication and firewall policy management platforms. This role is responsible for maintaining secure network access, supporting AAA services, automating operational processes, and ensuring policy compliance across global network environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in Cisco ISE, firewall policy management tools, and automation technologies while collaborating with global infrastructure and security teams.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and operate firewall security management platforms, including authentication servers and firewall policy compliance systems.
- Administer and support enterprise Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) environments, ensuring reliable authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) services.
- Support 802.1X network access control across wired and wireless environments.
- Manage and support privileged network access frameworks for controlled device access.
- Collaborate with network, security, and endpoint teams to ensure seamless integration and policy enforcement.
- Develop and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Python, Terraform, and REST APIs
. - Manage and update Ansible playbooks for automation deployments.
- Monitor system health, logs, and performance; respond to alerts and incidents.
- Perform change management activities for supported platforms.
- Assess security advisories and vulnerabilities and implement remediation activities.
- Participate in a global follow-the-sun on-call rotation providing escalation support for critical issues.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and network authentication technologies such as 802.1X, TACACS+, and RADIUS
. - Experience with firewall policy management and compliance tools such as Algosec
, Cisco Security Manager
, Cisco Firepower Management Center
, Forti Manager
, and Forti Analyzer
. - Hands‑on experience troubleshooting network access and authentication issues.
- Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Ansible, Terraform, and Git Hub
. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) concepts.
- Working knowledge of AWS cloud services (EC2, VPC).
- Understanding of endpoint profiling and access control technologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise global authentication platforms.
- Knowledge of enterprise firewall lifecycle management and policy governance.
- Experience working in global enterprise network environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within global teams.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
