About the Role:
As a Technician in the retail trade industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of technical equipment and systems that support retail activities. Your primary focus will be on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hardware and software components to minimize downtime and enhance customer experience. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a technician or in a similar technical support role.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking principles.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with non-technical staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or certification in Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Experience working in a retail environment or supporting retail technology systems.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and retail software applications.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance regulations in retail settings.
- Customer service experience with a focus on technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on retail equipment such as point-of-sale systems, barcode scanners, and networking devices.
- Diagnose technical issues reported by store staff and provide timely resolutions to minimize disruption.
- Install and configure new hardware and software systems in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate with IT and store management teams to plan and execute system upgrades and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of technical equipment.
- Provide technical support and training to retail staff to ensure proper use of equipment and software.
- Ensure compliance with safety and security protocols related to technical equipment and data handling.
