Healthcare Regulatory & Commercial Counsel

Hybrid or Fully remote

Salary $155k

About the Role

Trava Health is looking for a business-minded attorney to help us navigate the legal and regulatory complexities that come with operating and scaling a fast-growing healthcare company.

This role will work closely with teams across Marketing, Design, Operations, Partnerships, and Leadership to ensure we are protecting the company while continuing to move quickly. You’ll be responsible for helping us understand where legal risk exists, determining how significant that risk is, and finding practical ways to move the business forward responsibly.

We’re looking for someone who understands that their job isn’t simply to say “no,” but to help us understand how we can accomplish our goals within the appropriate legal and regulatory boundaries.

What You’ll Do
  • Review Trava Health’s website, landing pages, advertising, promotional materials, claims, disclosures, and other consumer-facing content for legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Advise our Marketing and Design teams on healthcare advertising requirements, including applicable FDA and FTC regulations and guidance.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and improve contracts with vendors, agencies, technology partners, healthcare partners, contractors, and other third parties.
  • Identify contractual risks and ensure agreements appropriately protect Trava’s financial, operational, intellectual property, data, and termination interests.
  • Monitor emerging FDA guidance, regulations, enforcement activity, and other federal and state healthcare developments that could affect Trava’s products, marketing, partnerships, or operations.
  • Translate new regulations into clear, actionable recommendations for our internal teams.
  • Help establish practical legal review processes, templates, contract standards, and guidelines that allow teams to move quickly without creating unnecessary risk.
  • Advise leadership on legal and regulatory risks associated with new products, partnerships, marketing strategies, and business initiatives.
  • Support Trava in managing claims, threatened disputes, litigation, regulatory inquiries, and other legal challenges as the company grows—including assessing exposure, developing resolution strategies, protecting the company’s financial interests, and coordinating with specialized outside counsel when appropriate.
  • Proactively identify areas of legal exposure and recommend ways to mitigate risk before issues escalated.
What We’re Looking For
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Approximately 4-7 years of relevant legal experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, digital health, telehealth, pharmacy, pharmaceuticals, or another highly regulated healthcare environment strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of FDA and FTC requirements affecting healthcare marketing, advertising, and consumer-facing claims.
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial and vendor agreements.
  • Ability to research and interpret evolving regulations and turn complex legal requirements into practical guidance for non-legal teams.
  • Experience working with litigation, disputes, regulatory inquiries, or outside counsel is preferred.
  • Strong business judgment and an ability to distinguish between theoretical legal risk and meaningful business risk.
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
What Success Looks Like

You make Trava safer without making Trava slower.

Our teams know when to involve Legal, understand the boundaries they’re operating within, and receive clear answers they can actually act on. Contracts protect us, marketing is reviewed efficiently, regulatory changes don’t catch us by surprise, and when legal challenges arise, leadership has someone who can quickly assess the situation and help determine the best path forward.
