Operations Manager
The Project Manager is responsible for activities related to a project team that may be formed in association with the duration of the project. Individual responsible for the project under the direction of an IMS Manager as appropriate and in accordance with established ABS policies and procedures. Provide support to other parts of ABS in areas such as project development and training.
Whatyou will do
- Acts as primary liaison between IMS, the functional staff and stakeholders on a project.
- Plans, schedules and coordinates various phases of work.
- Monitors progress of assigned projects, for both IMS and stakeholders.
- Acts as a professional specialist for the project in the application of related requirements, concepts, principles and processes.
- Remains knowledgeable of new methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities and makes recommendations for process changes. Recommends new approaches to problems encountered. Recommends changes in methods, procedures or design where necessary.
- Prepares technically accurate and timely reports related to the project.
- Monitors the project to ensure maintenance of quality, content, consistency and continuity of work performed.
- Stays actively informed concerning technical, business and management developments affecting present and potential customers and communicates this information promptly to the appropriate senior level managers.
- Maintains files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility.
- Coaches, motivates, mentors and directs assigned resources to desired results.
- Identifies and manages project risks and issues.
Skills and Abilities
Required (KSAR)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent certification and/or licenses in the area of specialization is preferred.
- Possess exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing highly complex and unique technical issues to personnel in who may or may not be in related technical fields.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple enterprise-level custom development projects, as well as supporting products and working with end-users for support and enhancements.
- The human relations skills necessary to maintain positive client contacts and provide leadership and motivation to subordinate staff and peers.
- The ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex and unique project-related problems.
- Ability to undertake short and long-term planning to provide for efficient and effective scheduling of work on the project.
- The ability to work well with others and strong employee relations skills.
- The desire and ability to work as a member of a team.
- Realization of financial aspects of approved business plans and budgets pertaining to the project.
- Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
- Needs to be familiar with the ABS IMS Project Management Methodology (applicable to internal candidates only).
A minimum of five (5) years of IT project management-related experience.
A bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or a recognized equivalent in an appropriate technical discipline is preferred.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or equivalent certification and/or licenses in the area of specialization are preferred.
Reporting RelationshipsWorks under the direction of an IMS Manager and the PMO Director.
