JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a “hands-on” Warehouse Supervisor who is ready to take on a challenge of building, organizing, planning and managing the team and products in our primary distribution center. In this role you will lead a team and will be expected to negotiate rates with carriers and run the site with safety and efficiency as priorities. This role will also be part of a relocation, will need to be available to travel to other locations while finalizing the relocation and project manage the logistics of the move.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain high levels of safety, accuracy, and performance in warehouse operations.
  • Manage inventory levels with help of Customer Service to reach desired inventory turn levels.
  • Recruit, train, direct and evaluate warehouse employees.
  • Develop processes, procedures, and KPI's to ensure effective utilization of resources.
  • Goal setting and adherence (VDM)
  • Facility presentation (Lean and CI)
  • Manage import of containers from port and outbound shipments (FTL, LTL, Small Pack, CPU) including logistics (including international).
  • Carrier negotiations to maintain set logistical costs and KPI's
  • Implement inventory controls (Including cycle counts and physical inventory)

Skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership skills, including the abilities to set goals, motivate and manage conflict.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to convey information accurately to all levels and practice active listening.
  • Strong interpersonal and organization skills
  • Good project management skills, including strong decision-making, problem-solving and strategic planning abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of logistics industry and best practices for distribution
  • Strong inventory control practices and logistics knowledge
  • Comfortable using inventory management software and other organizational computer applications (Microsoft Suite)
  • Physical strength, stamina, and the ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift.
  • Ability to travel and stay overnight in other locations.

Experience Required

  • 3-5 years Leading a warehouse team.
  • Lean/CI Training helpful but not required.
  • Warehouse or supply chain certification helpful but not required. (ASCM, etc)
  • Ability to speak Spanish helpful but not required.
