Job Description Job Family DefinitionProvides support and/or leads teams through the product development lifecycle process and implementation of company’s products. Projects are typically shorter‑term, less complex and more contained with a defined time frame. Programs are typically longer‑term, multi‑functional, multi‑project with complex requirements and effort. Manage activities, resource capability, schedules, budgets, and ensure cross company communications to facilitate product completion on schedule within budget. Work with PMO management to identify and improve process and program efficiencies.
Work can involve external parties such as standards bodies, partners, etc.
Contributions impact technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services regularly and sustainably. Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Provides expertise and partnership to functional and technical project teams and may participate in cross‑functional initiatives. Exercises significant independent judgment to determine best method for achieving objectives. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others.
Responsibilities- This position will report into the HPE Storage Program Management Office (PMO) within the Hybrid Cloud organization.
- Manages and leads one or more programs involving multiple functions and project teams to drive the product offering and implementation process for a product or service offering.
- Responsible for creating schedules, ensuring alignment and the successful execution of critical deliverables within schedule time frames.
- Responsible for managing program budget, resource allocation plan, and other supporting requirements for delivery of the program objectives.
- Manage the activities of the project teams, internal and external partners to ensures progress against established plan and makes determinations based on analysis of business information to alter or update schedule and resource allocation to meet program requirements and schedule.
- Communicates program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to product stakeholders; collaborates with management and internal manufacturing and development partners to recommend and implement changes to product, processes, or business practices to resolve escalated issues, produce solutions, and ensure adherence to budgets and established product roadmaps and schedules.
- Drive innovation and the integration of new technologies and initiatives into the program and activities to gain efficiencies and produce results.
- Leads and provides guidance and mentoring to less‑experienced staff members.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or Information Systems Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
- PMP/PMI certification preferred.
- Typically 6-10 years experience as a program manager.
- Extensive experience with using Smartsheet and other program planning tools and software packages to create, manage, and track program results.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Demonstrated business acumen and successful experience managing all aspects of programs, including communicating with stakeholders and directing very large matrixed teams and resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language required.
