Essential Functions
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures including Health, Safety and Quality Assurance policies.
  • Report injuries, accidents, near misses or unsafe conditions to a Supervisor or Manager immediately.
  • Setup, instruct and maintain the work flow for respective department.
  • Check and inspect quality of output in respective department.
  • Assure team is operating in a safe and productive manner.
  • Provide necessary PPE and supplies to team.
  • Train and assist with developing department employees.
  • Assist production supervisors in daily activities.
  • Operate equipment/machines as needed.
  • Lead shift with minimal to no supervision required.
  • Recognize and identify problem areas and assist with developing solutions.
  • Issue and release work orders.
  • Perform other and/or related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Experience
  • Minimum of one year of related supervisory experience; at least 2 years of previous experience in a manufacturing or machining environment; background in fasteners or similar industry; knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements preferred.
Skills And Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) with 2 years’ experience in related field preferred;
    Associate’s degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • Able to read, understand, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
  • Ability to implement and adjust to changes without compromising Quality or Performance.
  • Manufacturing and production experience and knowledge of industry standards.
  • Ability to think-on-feet to make quick decisions.
  • Intermediate level computer skills to include MS Outlook and Excel; experience with Epicor system preferable.
  • Must be able to work a shift schedule and weekends or on-call as needed.
Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position is responsible for supervision, providing direction and training, and overall performance management of production personnel.
Physical Demands
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of scheduled shift.
  • Moderate physical effort handling parts. Frequently exerting average effort. Ability to manually load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, platforms, saws, and trucks. Able to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs repetitively.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Manual dexterity using hands, fingers, and arms to push, pull, reach, grab, hold, lift, and hammer.
  • Diversified duties requiring constant alertness or physical activity.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with multi step process production runs on different machines. High value highly customized components and high precision manufacturing for critical service applications.
  • Noise Level: Moderate to High.
  • Temperature variable with season.
