Production Cell Manager

The Production Cell Manager – Frame 6B Auxiliary Skid Refurbishment is responsible for the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of all refurbishment activities associated with Frame 6B gas turbine auxiliary skids. Provide leadership for a multidisciplinary team of supervisors, technicians, mechanics, electricians, welders, inspectors, planners, and support personnel responsible for receiving, inspecting, developing refurbishment work scopes, planning, refurbishing, testing, and preparing auxiliary skids for shipment.

Oversee production performance, including safety, quality, cost, scope, schedule, labor productivity, and customer satisfaction. Serve as the primary operational leader for the production cell and work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Quality, and Field Services to ensure successful project execution.

Primary duties include:

  • Leading all daily operations within the Frame 6B Auxiliary Skid Refurbishment Production Cell.
  • Directing refurbishment activities from equipment receipt through final testing and shipment.
  • Developing daily and weekly production priorities to meet customer delivery schedules.
  • Managing production resources to maximize labor efficiency, equipment utilization, and throughput.
  • Ensuring refurbishment activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved work instructions and engineering requirements.
  • Monitoring production progress and removing barriers that impact schedule, quality, or productivity.

The role involves overseeing all phases of the auxiliary skid refurbishment process including receiving and identification of customer equipment, initial inspection and condition assessment, development of refurbishment work scope, project planning and work package preparation, skid disassembly, cleaning and component inspection, mechanical repairs and component replacement, structural repairs and fabrication, pipe fabrication, repair, and replacement, valve inspection and replacement, instrumentation installation and calibration coordination, electrical wiring inspection and repair, control panel inspection and refurbishment, mechanical and electrical reassembly, pressure testing and leak testing, functional testing of auxiliary systems, final inspection, documentation, preservation, and shipment preparation.

Technical leadership includes providing technical leadership to supervisors, technicians, mechanics, electricians, welders, and inspectors, reviewing inspection findings and determining appropriate refurbishment requirements in collaboration with Engineering, resolving technical manufacturing issues impacting production, ensuring repairs comply with engineering drawings, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards, supporting engineering change implementation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Workforce management includes leading, mentoring, and developing production supervisors and direct labor personnel, fostering a culture of safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence, conducting employee performance evaluations and identifying training and development needs, promoting workforce flexibility through cross-training and skills development, maintaining staffing levels that support production requirements.

Quality management includes ensuring all refurbishment activities comply with the company's Quality Management System and customer requirements, coordinating with Quality Assurance on inspections, nonconformance resolution, and corrective actions, verifying completion of required inspection hold points and documentation, driving first-pass quality and reducing rework through disciplined process execution, supporting customer inspections and factory acceptance testing (FAT) activities.

Cost, scope, and schedule management includes maintaining full ownership of production cost, labor hours, schedule adherence, and project execution, monitoring actual labor performance against estimates and budgets, ensuring refurbishment work scopes are accurately developed and executed, coordinating material availability with Supply Chain and Planning, identifying…
