Summary

The Production Control Manager is responsible for developing and managing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure customer delivery commitments are met through effective production planning, supply chain coordination, and manufacturing scheduling. The role partners with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Logistics to optimize production capacity, material availability, and operational performance.

Primary Duties Production Planning & Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on customer demand, capacity, material availability, and business priorities.
  • Coordinate production schedules with operations, balancing labor, equipment, supplier, and inventory constraints.
  • Monitor schedule performance, adjust plans as needed, and lead regular production planning meetings.
  • Establish production priorities and communicate schedule changes across the organization.
Supply Chain Management
  • Manage procurement, inventory, supplier performance, and material availability to support production.
  • Develop supply chain strategies that improve delivery performance, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while leading purchasing and strategic sourcing activities.
  • Lead Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (S&OP) activities.
Project & Performance Management
  • Maintain integrated production and project schedules while identifying schedule risks and resource constraints.
  • Develop recovery plans for production delays and monitor performance through KPIs and executive reporting.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to resolve production bottlenecks.
Leadership
  • Lead and develop production planning and production control personnel.
  • Foster collaboration across Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Customer Service.
  • Drive accountability for schedule adherence, customer delivery, and continuous improvement.

The position this job reports to is the Shop Director. Balancing planning and schedules with execution of the deliverables.

Compensation

The initial salary range is $152,200 to $175,100 based on experience and qualifications.

Job Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Years of

    Experience:

    7–10 years of progressive experience in production planning, production control, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience in aerospace, defense, industrial manufacturing, or other complex discrete manufacturing environments.
  • Preferred Licenses/Certification
    :
    • APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
    • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
    • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience
