The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports daily plasma collection operations, working under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. The role requires commitment to customer service and quality.

About the roleThe Medical Support Specialist evaluates donor eligibility, manages donor adverse events, reviews laboratory test results, and notifies donors of unsuitable test results. The specialist follows industry regulations and provides environmental, health, and safety (EHS) support.
How you will contribute- Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions according to SOPs, handle medical emergencies, develop Center Physician standing orders, and arrange transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance concerning donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents, determining if further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required, following EHS guidance.
- Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate‑level nursing program with state requirements.
- Current license or certification in the assigned state: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- State‑approved basic IV therapy competency.
- Completion of FDA‑approved Bio Life Medical Support Specialist training.
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience.

LocationUSA – TX – Spring
U.S. Hourly Wage Range$23.85 – $32.79 per hour, subject to qualifications, experience, and local wage requirements.
