Plasma Center Nurse - LPN

Job Description

Bio Life Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd., operates plasma donation centers that collect high‑quality plasma for life‑changing medicines. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) works under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician to support plasma center operations and ensure regulatory compliance.

As a Medical Support Specialist, you will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and inform donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician for medical issues.

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Consult with the Center Physician or Medical Affairs when providing unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance regarding donor safety and eligibility.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and assess the need for further evaluation by occupational health or ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats in the local community.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified as a LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Successful completion of FDA‑approved training for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
• At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

$22.80 - $31.35 per hour
