Retail Assistant Store Manager
$13.00 to $17.00 per hour. Retail sales associates can earn up to 8% commission on transactions, averaging an additional $8.61 per hour on top of the hourly rate.

Assistant Store Managers provide day‑to‑day operational leadership, partnering with the Store Manager to develop staff, recruit and retain talent, and achieve financial goals. The role leads a customer‑centric environment, oversees financial statements, and ensures compliance with asset protection, product safety, and company standards across a wide range of merchandise, including jewelry, electronics, and firearms in FFL locations.
Responsibilities- Foster a customer‑centric environment by engaging customers in a friendly, professional manner and addressing issues promptly.
- Train and develop pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit and source top talent through company‑prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, perform cash drawer and merchandise counts, and follow procedures to protect assets.
- Maintain asset protection through inventory control, property safety procedures, documentation, and securing customer loans.
- Administer store processes and procedures, including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store presentation, and enterprise‑level reporting.
- Analyze financial statements to drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to safeguard loan value and integrity.
- Complete assigned training and self‑development tasks.
- Communicate clearly with employees to ensure understanding of the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Stay current on product knowledge.
- Act as manager on duty in the Store Manager’s absence.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Willing and able to perform duties for extended periods, including standing, stooping, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting (up to 50 lb).
- Demonstrated supervisory ability.
- Ability to work with firearms and obtain firearms certification.
- Flexibility to work in multiple locations and on a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work 40+ hours per week (hours not guaranteed).
- Computer literate; can operate POS systems and common office equipment.
- Strong multitasking, organizational, analytical, and cash‑handling skills.
- Independent worker with a strong work ethic and business sense.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; minimum age 18.

Commission Plan InformationAssistant Store Managers earn 2–8% commission based on gross profit of personal performance. Additional bonus may be awarded based on store performance.
