Full-Time | $45,000–$60,000/year + Performance Bonus

Spring, Texas

Ace Hardware Spring is looking for a hands-on, driven Store Manager to lead our team, grow sales, manage daily operations, and deliver the legendary customer service Ace Hardware is known for.

This is not an office-only management position. We are looking for a leader who is visible on the sales floor, understands what is happening throughout the store, develops the team, identifies opportunities, solves problems, and takes ownership of results.

The Store Manager should be able to know the business, know the numbers, build a plan, communicate it, and execute it with the team.

What We’re Looking For
  • Visible and available on the sales floor throughout the day
  • Organized, structured, and able to delegate, train, follow up, and hold people accountable
  • Focused on growing sales while controlling labor and protecting margins
  • Strong with customer service, inventory, merchandising, scheduling, and team development
  • Comfortable analyzing sales, inventory, labor, margin, and operational reports
  • Able to identify problems and develop solutions without waiting to be told what to do
  • Curious about what successful Ace stores and competitors are doing
  • Comfortable communicating with Ace Hardware corporate and utilizing available programs and resources
  • Strategic and process-driven, with priorities and plans for each major department
  • Motivated to develop employees and build a strong, accountable store culture
Sales Growth & Business Ownership

This position requires more than maintaining daily store operations. The Store Manager is expected to actively identify opportunities to grow the business and increase sales.

Responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute plans to increase store sales and customer traffic
  • Identify sales opportunities throughout the store and create action plans around them
  • Treat large customer orders, quotes, and high-value sales opportunities as a priority
  • Ensure major customer opportunities are followed through from beginning to end
  • Develop contractor, commercial, professional, and repeat-customer business
  • Maintain awareness of major quotes and sales opportunities and ensure timely customer follow-up
  • Look for opportunities to grow store services and convert those services into repeat customer traffic
  • Evaluate successful Ace stores and local competitors for products, merchandising, services, and ideas that could improve our business
  • Bring recommendations and solutions to ownership instead of waiting for ownership to identify every opportunity
Inventory, Ordering & Merchandising

The Store Manager is responsible for understanding what we have, what is selling, what customers are asking for, and what the store needs to carry.

Responsibilities include:
  • Maintain accurate inventory and address negative quantities, incorrect counts, outs, overstocks, and inventory discrepancies
  • Review sales and customer demand to determine what products and quantities the store should stock
  • Monitor products customers repeatedly order online and identify opportunities to stock those products locally
  • Review ordering and replenishment to ensure inventory decisions are supported by actual demand
  • Manage deliveries, receiving, backstock, replenishment, and product rotation
  • Identify slow-moving and non-performing inventory and determine whether the issue is count accuracy, placement, pricing, merchandising, or customer demand
  • Develop plans to reposition, promote, discount, or discontinue slow-moving merchandise when appropriate
  • Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, priced, signed, organized, and presented
  • Maintain strong endcaps, displays, promotional areas, and seasonal transitions
  • Develop plans for key departments and categories instead of simply maintaining shelves
People, Scheduling & Accountability

A successful Store Manager builds a team that can execute consistently and efficiently.

The Store Manager will:
  • Hire, train, coach, develop, and retain strong employees
  • Put employees in roles that match their strengths and abilities
