Job Title: Development & Production Geoscientist Contractor

Position Overview

Development & Production Geoscientists work at the field level, concentrating on high grading development inventory through detailed 3D reservoir characterization. The role is responsible for delivering accurate subsurface interpretations and communicating critical risks and uncertainties that support business investment decisions. Integrate and interpret geological and geophysical data to develop appraisal strategies, field development plans, and drilling programs. Typical datasets include seismic data, well logs, fluid data, and core information, which are used to construct subsurface predictive models.

The position requires close collaboration with engineering teams on reservoir characterization, well planning, drilling operations, and technology advancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply geological knowledge, technical expertise, and analytical skills to evaluate and solve subsurface geological challenges.
  • Plan and execute development activities in collaboration with integrated multidisciplinary teams.
  • Assess appraisal opportunities through prospect generation, prospect maturation, and drilling programs.
  • Integrate and interpret multiple datasets across various scales, including seismic, log, and core data, to develop robust subsurface models and interpretations.
  • Work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across functions to support project objectives.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Master of Science (M.S.) degree in a relevant geoscience discipline.
  • Minimum of three years
    of experience in a related industry.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard software such as Kingdom, Petra, or Petrel
    .
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable:
  • Strong quantitative interpretation skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience supporting well planning and drilling execution activities.
  • Experience developing integrated geological interpretations constrained by seismic, core, and well data across regional scales.
Preferred Qualifications / Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to independently integrate geoscience expertise, diverse datasets, analogs, and technical concepts to solve geological problems and support business objectives.
  • Provide sound judgment, effective application of geoscience methods and tools, and the ability to deliver timely, high-quality work products.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and leveraging prior experience to maintain a competitive technical advantage.
  • Experience with unconventional reservoirs is preferred.
  • Permian Basin experience
    is highly desirable.
