Backflow Technician
This position is responsible for assisting in the maintenance, repair, installation and inspection of all backflow devices within the District. Responsibilities include inspecting backflow assembly installation, monitoring maintenance requirements, creating and maintaining information files, completing annual inspections, reading and interpreting technical drawings, repairing and installing plumbing, operating tools and machinery, assisting with drains, cataloging plumbing equipment, working with outside contractors, performing ad-hoc repairs, assisting other personnel, transporting tools and equipment, and operating various types of equipment.
IrrigationSpecialist
This position involves repairing, replacing, and installing irrigation systems, maintaining and troubleshooting irrigation systems, programming timers, performing diagnostics, excavating trenches, preparing new irrigation sites, providing technical support, conducting evaluations, conducting water use audits, adhering to irrigation schedules, supporting system upgrades, promoting sustainability initiatives, identifying waste reduction opportunities, participating in special projects, demonstrating support towards the District's vision, assisting in report compilation, attending meetings, displaying integrity and teamwork, performing job duties in accordance with established expectations, maintaining job knowledge, and demonstrating proficiency in various software applications.
Minimum Education , Experience & Credential RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent GED, active, valid, and in good standing Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT) license through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), three years' experience as an irrigation specialist, active, valid, and in good standing Texas Driver's License.

Physical Requirements & Working ConditionsThis position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, frequent climbing, lifting, carrying and/or moving objects of up to 50 lbs., balancing, stooping, digging, bending, operating heavy machinery, physical strength to handle materials, endurance to perform labor-intensive tasks, exposure to diverse and potentially extreme conditions including fluctuating temperatures, dust, fumes, vapors, odors, chemical, mechanical, and electrical hazards, use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and frequent operation of a motor vehicle on public roadways.
