Exxon Mobil's state‑of‑the‑art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors. The Developer Tools Engineer will leverage software development and platform engineering techniques to enhance and support strategic developer platforms and develop data analytics solutions for these platforms. This role reports to the Delivery Team Product Owner and delivers strategic work for advancing Exxon Mobil’s software development and Dev Ops capabilities/culture. This job will be located at the Exxon Mobil Houston Campus in Spring, TX.

• Create and disseminate source code and artifact management best practices to the developer community
• Consult and mentor the developer community on source code, CI/CD, and artifact management practices
• Design and develop integrations/automations for strategic developer platforms, such as integrations between developer platforms and Exxon Mobil’s Internal Developer Portal
• Leverage scripting and platform APIs to develop/design analytics and visualizations that provide strategic insights and decision points for organizational Dev Ops adoption and performance
• Partner with Cyber Security to enhance Application Security posture for the organization
• Develop forms, templates, and re‑usable components to speed up developer onboarding and platform adoption
• Evaluate current processes around platform management and provide recommendations and solutions on optimizing existing processes
• Provide expert‑level platform support to developer community
• Communicate, collaborate, and report with multiple departments
• Develop, maintain, distribute, and provide training on strategic platforms
• Stay updated on advancements in software development and platform engineering
• Mentor engineers/analysts within the team

We’re looking for an individual who:

• Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science or IT related disciplines
• 5+ years experience in a technical role
• Advanced level of software development, scripting, and/or CI/CD skills
• Proficient working with relational databases and generating complex data visualizations
