Richard Construction Inc. (RCI) is currently seeking an experienced Industrial Material Handler, Laydown Handler, or Warehouse Worker.
Position SummaryMaterial Handlers, Laydown Handlers, Warehouse Workers will receive, inventory, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other construction related items in/from a warehouse, storage area, or laydown yard(s).
Qualification Highlights- Must have 5+ years of experience working in an industrial warehouse
- Must have 2+ years of experience working for an in industrial construction project in the warehouse of equivalent material handler position
- Must possess all knowledge skills and abilities for position (see below)
- Must have basic understanding of Microsoft EXCEL
- Must meet all physical requirements
- Must be able to regularly and reliably show up at the assigned job site
- Must meet all safety and security requirements at the assigned job site
- Receive and count stock items, and turn in packaging slip to materials clerk or purchasing with the accurate material counts, including any notes on short receipts or damages
- Unpack delivered goods and store in appropriate location until issued for construction use
- Notify appropriate department when ordered item has arrived or deliver to the appropriate department, as required
- Maintain inventory control by continuous tracking and inventory updates
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas
- Use identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment to mark all goods
- Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities or facilities
- Keep records on the use of and damage of stock or stock handling equipment
- Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors
- Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers
- Identify all tools required for tasks
- Identify safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risks
- Must have 5+ years of experience in working in a warehouse
- Must have 2" years of experience working on an industrial construction project in the warehouse or equivalent material handler position
- Must have working knowledge of the basic processes and equipment used in industrial construction
- Must be organized and have the ability to complete an accurate count of items received
- Must have good communication skills, including the ability to read and write effectively
- Must be familiar with basic computer operations
- Must be able to follow directions
- Must be able to use tools such as hammers and drills in order to open crated materials received or to crate materials that are schedule to be shipped
- Must be a team player and have effective communication skills in dealing with coworkers and any other related contacts
- Must be willing to follow all company directives and safety procedures
- Must have reliable transportation

Physical Requirements
- Employee will be required to adhere to large amounts of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting
- Will talk and hear in order to communicate effectively
- Must have good dexterity with hands and fingers to perform rigging connections
- Able to use arms and hands to signal, grad, hold, turn, and push or pull objects such as materials, controls, and tools
- WIll be required to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight
- Will work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and work off platforms
- Capable of occasional work off platforms or scaffolding using the appropriate fall protection requirements
- Will use vision abilities to focus, see short distances, see colors, possess depth perception and peripheral vision
- Must be capable or working outdoors in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, earplugs/muffs, safety vests, gloves, steel toe/safety toe boots, and masks/respirators
