Impact of the Role

General Profile

* Requires working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical scientific or operational processes

* Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise

* Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods

* Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Essential Functions

* Assists engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.

* Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots or automated components.

* Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.

* Investigate and troubleshoots defects or bugs, complete repairs and provides preventative maintenance.

Required Qualifications

* Required education and experience:
Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Preferred education and experience:
Associate's Degree

* Discipline/Major:
Technical Training Preferred

* Knowledge, skills & abilities:

Physical Requirements

* Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.

* Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.

* May need to stand for long periods of time.

* Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

* May be requested to work a different shift.
