Part-Time Weekend Opener

Summary

The Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for members and guests. The role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling membership inquiries and transactions, and helping maintain a clean, comfortable, and friendly "Judgement Free Zone" environment. This position ensures a positive member experience through friendly and professional interactions, prompt support, and a strong understanding of club culture, policies, and procedures.

• Greet members, prospective members, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Provide outstanding customer service and respond to member questions and concerns promptly.
• Assist members with account inquiries, changes, and billing questions.
• Provide information about Planet Fitness memberships and amenities.
• Assist potential members with tours and sign‑ups.
• Promote and explain current membership specials and upgrades (e.g., Black Card).
• Meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.
• Check members into the system using the club’s POS system.
• Answer phones professionally and efficiently.
• Process new memberships, cancellations, and payments accurately.
• Follow opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Respond promptly and professionally to members’ questions and concerns and inform the Assistant Manager or General Manager if any issues arise.
• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of the club by performing assigned cleaning duties throughout the shift.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility, including restrooms, locker rooms, and workout areas.
• Ensure weights are returned to the appropriate rack area.
• Regularly walk the floor to ensure the club remains clean, organized, and safe.
• Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to work onsite; this is not a remote position.

• Ability to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Obtain and maintain CPR/AED certification within required time frames.
• Obtain tanning certification within company required time frames.
• Must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry search.
• All Utah locations must participate in E-Verify.
• This position requires the employee to work on‑site.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working in a club fitness setting.
• Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and safety standards.

Environment:
Indoor environment; exposure to noise, dust, cleaning chemicals, and gym equipment.

Physical:
Requires prolonged periods of standing and walking, periodic stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movement, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.). The candidate must be able to perform CPR and operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate in person or on the phone to exchange information.

Normal vision and hearing, with or without correction.
