Job Responsibilities
  • Provide competent technical and clinical services and flex daily needs based on policy, best practice guidelines and department needs.
  • Assist care providers with procedures and physical exams of patients.
  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
  • Provide care consistent with the family-centered care and medical home models.
  • Provide flexible, culturally competent and responsive care to the needs of the patient and family.
  • Treat families as full partners in decision making processes regarding their child's care, offering information, services and support in a collaborative and respectful manner.
  • Act as a customer advocate to better meet the needs of patients and families, responding quickly to parent requests and concerns, and providing appropriate education/information.
  • Work collaboratively with others to resolve problems and achieve goals, developing positive working relationships, acknowledging others’ skills and contributions, and promoting a positive professional work environment.
  • Manage records per department policy, assist with data collection for various forms, obtain consent and release of information forms when indicated, maintain patient files and documents, and demonstrate adherence to documentation practices with accurate and detailed data entry.
  • Manage specimens per protocols; maintain knowledge of routine testing processes, retrieve test results, and communicate normal lab results as appropriately delegated.
  • Perform delegated clinical and administrative duties under the supervision of a nurse or licensed physician.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a program in Medical Assisting and at least one year of related work experience, or completion of a formal medical services training program of the US armed forces.
