Job SummaryThe Senior Return Material Acquistion (RMA) Line Technician is responsible for independently executing, analyzing and optimizing the remanufacturing battery packs returned through the RMA process. This includes inspection of failed components, performing part replacements, and thoroughly documenting all work in compliance with established procedures. This role combines hands‑on manufacturing, autopsy, and repair skills with accurate computer‑based record‑keeping, ensuring traceability and adherence to quality standards.
Responsibilities- Independently perform the disassembly, repair, and reassembly of High‑voltage (HV) battery packs and modules in accordance with approved work instructions and safety protocols.
- Own and drive the scrap process, including developing, analyzing, and validating scrap reports, and providing actionable insights to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Diagnose errors or technical issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Execute advanced root cause analysis on failed components using appropriate equipment, perform part replacements, and verify compliance through inspections and testing.
- Create RMA analysis reports and document findings, repairs, and parts usage into company service and inventory platforms such as Salesforce, Plex, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms.
- Drive and contribute quality investigations, 8D creation, and continuous improvement initiatives for non‑confirming materials, and communicate cross functionally.
- Conduct and perform quality checks and document test and inspection data to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment, perform proper calibration, and keep the work area clean and organized in accordance with safety and ergonomic guidelines.
- Oversee and manage returned‑pack inventory, including restocking by forklift operation, disposal, or repair actions.
- Lead by expertise in troubleshooting, test, repair and service equipment.
- Participate in the development of troubleshooting workflows and documentation.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in battery manufacturing, automotive electrification, industrial electronics rework, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant manufacturing or mechanical experience.
- Proficient and certified in forklift operation.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft productivity tools for documentation and reporting.
- Proven troubleshooting expertise in electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands on experience with disassembly, repair, and reassembly of high‑voltage battery packs or similar systems.
- Experience working under quality systems such as ISO 9001, with an understanding of quality standards and the ability to perform inspections to ensure compliance.
