Job Summary
The Production Line Lead is a hands‑on operator lead responsible for supporting and guiding operators on an assigned pack or module production line. This role performs and supports assembly, debugging, and verification of modules and battery pack systems, while providing daily coaching, communication, and feedback. The Production Line Lead plays a key role in problem‑solving, continuous improvement, and new product launches.
Responsibilities- Assemble products to customer requirements and company goals while providing hands‑on guidance, support, and coaching to operators on the assigned pack or module line to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient assembly.
- Perform collection of downtime and production records for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Assign operators to workstations with rotation during shift, coordinating resources through effective communication and collaboration to support workload balance, cross‑training, and team effectiveness.
- Lead inventory of manufacturing area.
- Reports production problems to Production Team Leads, supporting issue investigation through basic troubleshooting, and clear communication of facts and recommendations.
- Perform Preventive maintenance activities to support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Support Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) activities.
- Participate when required in Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) and work instruction reviews.
- Monitor progress to keep the build schedule on track, proactively identifying production, quality, or staffing issues early and recommending recovery actions to minimize disruption.
- Ensure materials are available to meet the production schedule.
- Identify and support continuous improvement projects, applying basic problem‑solving techniques (such as first‑level root cause analysis) and engaging operators in improvement opportunities related to safety, quality, efficiency, and flow.
- Adhere to and support compliance to ergonomic guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by modeling safe behaviors, reinforcing ergonomic guidelines, addressing unsafe practices in real time, and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Support weekend and off-shift work as required.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations.
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Three (3) years experience in electrification assembly line, high voltage, electrical component handling, battery manufacturing preferred, or equivalent manufacturing experience.
- Completion of applicable training matrices is preferred; however, a combination of relevant experience, technical competence, and demonstrated leadership capability will be considered for individuals who show readiness.
- Previous line lead, supervisory, or equivalent leadership experience, internal or external, will be considered when evaluating overall qualification and readiness.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and the ability to influence, coach, and support teams.
- Willingness to participate in a leadership development program.
- Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/SharePoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- PLEX system software knowledge required.
