RMA Line Technician
The RMA Line Technician is responsible for analyzing and remanufacturing battery packs returned through the Return Material Acquisation (RMA) process. This includes inspection of failed components, performing part replacements, and thoroughly documenting all work in compliance with established procedures. This role combines hands-on manufacturing, autopsy, and repair skills with accurate computer-based record-keeping, ensuring traceability and adhere to quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Perform disassembly, repair, and reassembly of High-voltage (HV) battery packs and modules in accordance with approved work instructions and safety protocols.
- Diagnose errors or technical issues and determine appropriate solutions.
- Perform root cause analysis on failed components using appropriate equipment, perform part replacements, and verify compliance through inspections and testing.
- Review and produce scrap reports, ensure accuracy, and provide feedback to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Create RMA analysis reports and document findings, repairs, and parts usage into company service and inventory platforms such as Salesforce, Plex, or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms.
- Support quality investigations, 8D creation, and continuous improvement initiatives for returned materials.
- Conduct and perform quality checks and document test and inspection data to ensure compliance with applicable specifications and standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment, perform proper calibration, and keep the work area clean and organized in accordance with safety and ergonomic guidelines.
- Manage returned-pack inventory, including restocking by forklift operation, disposal, or repair actions.
- Troubleshoot, test, repair and service equipment.
- Participate in the development of troubleshooting workflows and documentation.
- Data entry into multiple platforms.
- Adhere to federal and state regulations
- Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant manufacturing or mechanical experience.
- Proficient in forklift operation.
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft productivity tools for documentation and reporting.
- Experience in battery manufacturing, automotive electrification, industrial electronics rework, or a related field. Proven troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with disassembly, repair, and reassembly of high-voltage battery packs or similar systems.
- Experience working under quality systems such as ISO 9001, with an understanding of quality standards and the ability to perform inspections to ensure compliance.

Physical Requirements /
Working Conditions:
- Able to complete physically demanding work.
- May be required to travel to and navigate a variety of locations.
- Excellent depth perception and reaction time.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching.
- Must be physically able to bend, lift, stretch, stoop, push, pull, stand, and carry as needed to inspect, service, and operate machinery, equipment, and gauges.
- Must be able to maintain attention for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines and inspect parts produced.
- Must have good hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
- The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- May be required to recognize small numbers, letters, symbols, colors on prints, and/or operate field instruments/equipment.
- Ability to successfully complete position specific pre-placement requirements.
