Job Summary:
The Manager, Qualityis responsible for leading and executing all plant-level quality activities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing operations. As the operational leader of the facility's quality organization, this role oversees daily quality performance, production quality support, receiving inspection, nonconforming material management, containment activities, corrective action execution, customer and supplier quality issue resolution, and quality team development. The Manager, Qualityensures consistent execution of the American Battery Solutions (“ABS”) Quality Management System while driving process control, defect prevention, launch readiness, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement initiatives, partnering closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership to achieve business objectives, sustain high-performing manufacturing operations, and executing the ISO and IATF 16949 standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily quality support for manufacturing operations, responding to production quality issues, process deviations, and product nonconformances.
- Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Supplier Quality to minimize quality-related disruptions and achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Manage containment, recovery, and nonconforming material processes, including receiving inspection, Quality Control (QC) Holds, Material Review Board (MRB) Disposition, rework coordination, and supplier quality issues.
- Lead daily quality performance reviews, communicate plant risks and priorities, and elevate critical issues.
- Manage and develop Quality Technicians, Inspectors, and support personnel through coaching, training, performance management, succession planning, staffing, and resource allocation.
- Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions using Eight Disciplines (8D), Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC), 5-Why, and other structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Ensure implementation and sustainment of Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs), Statistical Process Control (SPC) Systems, Layered Process Audits, reaction plans, and error-proofing controls.
- Monitor process capability, quality performance, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive defect reduction, waste elimination, process stability, cost-of-poor-quality reduction, lessons learned, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead responses to customer concerns, product escapes, warranty investigations, corrective action requests, audits, customer visits, supplier interactions, and external quality reviews.
- Lead quality readiness for new products, engineering changes, equipment launches, and process changes, including Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), PFMEA development, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) studies, process capability verification, launch containment, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with ABS Quality Management System requirements, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, customer-specific requirements, and applicable regulations through audits, management reviews, and closure of audit findings and compliance actions.

Position
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Engineering.
- Minimum seven (7) years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience managing quality personnel.
- Experience supporting high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of APQP, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), PFMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, and Statistical Analysis.
