Overview
At Foundation Building Materials (FBM), the CDL Driver role delivers materials safely, efficiently, and with pride on local routes. Daily home time, competitive pay, and a supportive culture built on safety and respect characterize this position.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate company vehicles, including up to 26’ trucks, in compliance with Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Deliver materials to customer project sites on time, providing excellent customer service
- Perform additional equipment training such as forklift as required
- Have basic knowledge of forklift operation and other equipment
- Unload materials at delivery locations and verify deliveries against packing slips
- Ensure deliveries are handled professionally and courteously, representing the company positively
- Unload, protect, move, and stage materials as specified by customer directives
- Have basic understanding of building materials
- Adhere to driving regulations, including seatbelt usage and state/jurisdiction policies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA requirements
- Use proper lifting techniques and wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety shoes
- Attend and participate in all required meetings related to material delivery and overall company operations
- Attend and participate in all required company training programs
- Perform frequent hands‑and‑arms operation of equipment, grasping and manipulation
- Engage in frequent driving or prolonged sitting in a truck, forklift, or similar equipment for multiple hours a day
- Occasionally lift or move up to 80 lbs and climb ladders carrying up to 50 lbs
- Push and pull carts, possibly as part of a team, over various distances and surfaces
- Learn to operate a forklift and other company vehicles, and use miscellaneous tools and equipment such as dollies, flat carts, and rock carts
- Support the company’s values in safety, customer focus, teamwork, integrity, and being a company of choice
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
- Minimum one year of consistent commercial driving experience
- Work well in a team environment
