The Tax Accountant is to be primarily responsible for preparing income tax returns, performing reconciliations and bookkeeping functions, and assisting with various tax projects and functions across all George’s entities.

• Assist with the preparation of federal and state income tax returns and audits for various types of entities.
• Prepare various quarterly and annual payroll tax filings.
• Assist with researching tax issues.
• Proactively monitor proposed tax legislation and law changes to ensure appropriate compliance and identify potential opportunities.
• Prepare work papers associated with ASC 740 accruals.
• Maintain and update fixed asset records for income tax purposes using tax fixed asset software and accounting records.
• Assist with federal and state tax notices.
• Assist with special projects and tax planning.
• Reconcile numerous back accounts.
• Compile work papers and prepare year-end tax summaries.
• Utilize Quick Books to input financial information and produce financials.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

This position will not have supervisory responsibility.

• Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and analytical skills, and must be a team player yet able to work independently.
• Preferred
  • CPA
  • 1-3 years of professional experience
