Associate Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Accountant who combines advanced Microsoft Excel expertise with strong analytical judgment, disciplined time management, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving. This position is responsible for completing recurring and ad hoc accounting activities accurately, resolving issues efficiently, and delivering reliable financial information within established timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and reconcile accounting data using advanced Excel tools, formulas, Pivot Tables, lookups, and data-validation techniques.
- Review financial information for accuracy, identify trends and variances, investigate discrepancies, and translate findings into clear, actionable conclusions.
- Plan and prioritize daily, weekly, monthly, and period-end accounting assignments to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Partner effectively with Accounting, Finance, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to gather information, resolve issues, and support shared objectives.
- Support continuous improvement by simplifying reports, strengthening controls, and developing more efficient accounting processes.
Requirements
- Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
3+ years office experience required; 3+ years payroll experience preferred. - Computer
Skills:
Requires basic computer skills including using a Tyson Business Computer System as well as Microsoft Office & Excel, SAP Preferred. - Communication
Skills:
Requires written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of management. Work activities are variable and require judgment to complete tasks such as setting priorities, evaluating results, and coordinating with others. Assignments are defined and the approach to be taken is usually determined in coordination with others. - Travel:
